Well what can I say other than a really BIG thank you.
I have never enjoyed any of my brothers Xmas presents quite so much before!!
Hope you enjoyed your present as much as I did Jonathan?)
Throughout the day, with the fish in a finicky (to put it politely) frame of mind, it was at times frustrating to say the least - especially when your experience and know how meant that you could actually show us numerous pike present all around us.
The frustration increased even more with the dropped runs, but throughout the day your good humour and general good banter meant it was a thoroughly enjoyable day even so.
At times it was hard to tell just who the paying customers were, as your frustration seemed even higher than our own and simply appeared to make you even more determined to put a fish in the boat for us.
At 4.54pm (Jonathan told you I'd even remember the time) it finally happened, at a time when many other guides would have already been heading for home (Our session was due to finish at 5.00pm) - Not you thank god!!
Just as you promised that fat lady hadn't sung and a fish that would have been swimming free without your advice and tuition was safely in the net. With my heart firmly in my mouth!!
Now there's not many girls in this world that make me go weak at the knee's but this beauty certainly did. At one stage there was so much adrenalin pumping through my body as I steered her towards the net, that I thought I was going to get a face to face encounter with my prey in her natural environment.
A hard earned 24lber....
My arm is still aching from the photograph's that followed, but the smile and the memories are there as well.
TWENTY FOUR POUNDS - A slight improvement on my previous best of a mere 6lb and I have to say Charlie mostly thanks to you!!

Thanks for an excellent days fishing.
All the days that I have fished with you have been good, but yesterday was the most enjoyable. I really appreciated the effort that you put into locating the fish and the different areas that we fished, together with the use of both bait and lures.
I have checked your booking page and my diary - we both seem O.K. for Monday 6th March 2006, so please book me in then.
I look forward to seeing you in March.
In the meantime thanks again and I hope that the remainder of your season goes well.

Just a quick e-mail to say thanks for a great weekend and for working so hard to get us into some big pike.
The fishing was hard going on our weekend out with you - it appeared that everybody was struggling. Fair play to you, you kept working at it, trying all your hot spots until by Sunday afternoon you had worked out in your head just where the big pike were congregating - and boy, were you right! Inside an hour we had landed a 30lb 4oz and a 22lb 8oz pike - and lost an equally monstrous fish! Quite something for two blokes that had not been piking before.
We now know how to catch big pike, not to mention how to handle and unhook these monsters. I think the first words out of my mouth on seeing the 30 pounder at boatside was "your not seriously considering bringing that thing into the boat are you."
Anyway, I'm back in Sweden now and I'm going to search out a local guide here to take me piking - although I'm not sure he will be willing to guide me after seeing the pictures and seeing what a hard act you will be to follow.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say thanks to Chrissie & John at the Kings Head Inn for fantastic accommodation, lovely rooms, great pub atmosphere and excellent restaurant.

Just a note to say how much my son Paul and I enjoyed our day lure fishing with you. We learnt more in 8 hours with you about lure fishing than we ever expected to. The sight of those big fish crashing through the surface after the top lures has changed our whole outlook on pike fishing.
Paul at present has the biggest catch between us, a pike of 30lb 7oz caught on live bait, we also have accounted for many 15 to 25lb fish on dead and live bait so when I say the day out with you has inspired us, I mean it has opened a new dimension to us in our quest for even bigger fish.
I can only thank you and next time we spend a day with you we will be much more proficient
